Selection criteria
Which features guide the choice?
Start with the job the component must do: should the foam protect an edge, seal a gap or cushion contact surfaces? Then compare the backing material, thickness, cell structure, adhesive and single- or double-sided construction. Width, length and shape must fit the intended process. Load and operating conditions also determine which product suits the application.

FOAM SELECTION GUIDE
How do you find the right technical foam?
Compare the selected item's foam type, thickness, adhesive, width and supply format. The range includes, for example, vinyl foam with an acrylic adhesive and PE foam with an acrylic adhesive. The right combination depends on the component's function and the loads it faces.
If you need a die-cut part or a cut length, tell us about the component, geometry, surface and operating conditions. Krückemeyer GmbH will work with you to match the material and format to the application.

QUESTIONS ABOUT TECHNICAL FOAMS
What information matters when selecting a technical foam?
The component's function, backing material, required thickness and geometry all matter. For self-adhesive technical foams, also identify the mating surface and adhesive construction. Tell us about the load, moisture and temperature in your application. This helps determine which foam suits your component and its operating conditions.
How do single-sided and double-sided self-adhesive foams differ?
A single-sided self-adhesive foam is fixed on one side, leaving the other foam surface available for its intended function. A double-sided foam tape is used to join two surfaces. The right version depends on the component and the task. The choice comes down to the adhesive of the specific item, the two surfaces and the loads in use.
Can Krückemeyer supply technical foams as die-cut parts?
Yes. Krückemeyer GmbH cuts and die-cuts suitable foams into shapes for specific applications. The shapes that can be produced depend on the foam and its construction. For a concrete enquiry, a drawing or sample, the dimensions, the required supply format and information about the later application are useful. This lets us agree on the material and manufacturing approach for your application.
Which technical data should you compare for foam products?
Compare the product details for the backing, adhesive, thickness, width, length and colour. Cell structure may also matter for a sealing task; for bonding, the mating surfaces and operating conditions are relevant. Technical foams in this category have different constructions.
